Great job with the study skills assignment we worked on in class this week! I hope you found at least a few new strategies that will help you in the future. For your blog this week, please answer the following questions. Please post your blog by Friday...I know I am posting it a little late this week so I will cut everyone some slack on the time it takes for you to respond. Please post by Friday evening if possible...so that you don't have to worry about it this weekend!

1. From the suggestions in class this week, which new study strategy will you try at least once this semester? Why do you think this strategy might work for you?

2. Do any of the study strategies that were suggested not work for you? Please explain why. Have you tried this idea before and it didn't work?

Week 10 Blog

Chapter 6

In Chapter 6 we discussed how to gain Self-Awareness of our "good" and "bad" habits we have which can lead to our successes, or that can lead us "off course."

Now is the perfect time in the semester to identify and revise the inner obstacles to your success. This week we learned how to "Eat a Whale" and actually achieve our goals by thinking BIG and taking small, purposeful steps.

Your assignment:
  • Discuss what habit patterns in your life get you off course.
  • How did these habit patterns develop?
  • List 4-5 steps you can take TODAY or within the next week to change these habit patterns.

This blog is due by Monday, November 3rd at 5pm (due to the blogger.com error) Have a safe and fun Halloween!

Week 9 Blog

Case Study: Strange Choices

In this week's class we read the Case Study for Chapter 6, Strange Choices. The choices that the students made in each scenario might appear a little strange to someone else. For this week's blog, think about a choice you have made that appeared strange to someone else-perhaps your parents or your friends that didn't agree with or understand what you were choosing. Explain why you made this choice. What made you decide to make this choice that might seem strange to others? Don't forget to dive deep and explore what really caused your choice.
